Shopping Quince When Your Color Season is Summer

Shopping Quince When Your Color Season is Summer

Let's talk Quince. There's been lots of buzz around the brand, and it makes some big claims about competing with luxury-level pieces. Personally, I like that it carries some "main" colors across multiple pieces, which can make for an easy-to-build wardrobe.

The quality? Solidly mid-tier. Prices? Friendly. I can't vouch for every piece, BUT I thrifted a Quince sweater last year that was in great shape. It has washed well and and is heading into it's second season looking great.

Quince gives you options that feel reliable, cohesive, and actually wearable. Which is basically the dream for anyone trying to shop their color season.

Summers shine in soft, cool, and muted tones that look blended rather than bold. Quince delivers several shades that line up beautifully. The links below will bring you directly to all the pieces in each color so you can easily peruse the site without overwhelm.

Core Colors

  • Marled Rose Pink: a softened pink that feels polished without leaning sugary or bright.
  • Ballet Slipper: airy and delicate, perfect for knits and tops that keep your look light.
  • Sky Blue: crisp and fresh, balances neutrals beautifully without shouting.
  • Frosted Blue: a staple color of jeans. it's cool and calm, a refined alternative to brighter cobalt or navy.
  • Chambray & Striped Chambray: classic chambray is a Summer friendly denim blue that works in both shirts and dresses. The striped version is a subtle pattern that stays within your palette and adds interest without overwhelming.

Neutrals

  • Cloud White: softer than optic white and available across a numver of different pant styles, it keeps outfits clean without overwhelming (as long as you can keep the stains off!)
  • Charcoal: grounding and versatile, more flattering than stark black on Summer skin, available in sweaters, pants, etc.
  • Loden Green: a muted, almost smoky green that substitutes seamlessly for black or navy trousers.
  • Dried Fig: this muted, dusty plum shade is one that Quince carries across its loungewear collection. It is soft enough for Summers and brings depth without feeling heavy.

Together, these colors mix like old friends. They keep your wardrobe cohesive and give you endless mix and match options that feel stylish with less effort.

Patterns and Textures That Work

Summers do best with fabrics and finishes that feel soft, light, and understated. Cotton, washable silk, and cashmere are great choices from Quince. These textures let your colors shine without adding unnecessary weight or sharpness.

Colors to Avoid at Quince if You are a Summer

Not every shade at Quince will work with your coloring. Summers should steer clear of colors that are too warm, too loud, or too stark.

  • Varsity Red: too bold and primary
  • Vermillion Red: leans hot and orange, which clashes with cool undertones
  • Rich Burgundy: overly deep and heavy for Summer softness
  • Terracotta: earthy and orange, throws off balance against cool undertones
  • Oatmeal: can look muddy or yellow against Summer skin

Instead, stick with the muted pinks, airy blues, slate toned neutrals, and soft greens that harmonize beautifully with your coloring.
